Inspiring! As a massive amounts of superficial information enjoyer, I suspect some slow reading could do me good. Unfortunately I read this while my daughter was furiously «trying to sleep» so I suppose I’ll have to do it again later. Or maybe just a few lines, but really intensely!
I guess that a lot of the time, a combination of slow and fast reading is useful. And if slow, close readings shouldn't turn out to be your cup of tea, you could always opt for "distant readings" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distant_reading). But I suppose that too would be difficult work with a daughter furiously trying to sleep!
